THE 'HOT TUB CINEMA CLUB' SERIES COMING TO LOS ANGELES

Want to do something totally off-the-wall late this summer? Like watching amazing movies, hanging with friends and hot tubs? If that sounds like an interesting trio then you might be excited to hear that something called Hot Tub Cinema Club, an international (literally in cities all around the world!) movie-screening event series is launching in our very own city of Los Angeles later this year.

Hot Tub Cinema Club has been hosting incredible events across Europe and Australia over the course of the past two years. The concept is pretty simple and is for the most part exactly what it sounds like: Linking up with small groups of friends to gather in inflatable hot tubs (usually rooftop) to watch cult classic films, drink amazing drinks, and eat amazing eats, while hanging out on warm days/evenings. How amazing does that sound?!

According to a recent press release, HTCC’s L.A. launch is expected to showcase six screenings, with a limit of 20 hot tubs per screening, and up to five people per hot tubs. In total, that’s in the ballpark of ~100 people per engagement.

HERE ARE A FEW KEY DETAILS:

  • Both showers and a changing room will be available, meaning you don’t necessarily have to show up or leave in your swimwear.

  • Towels ca'n be provided to guests, but you’re encouraged to bring your own.

  • Food and drink on hand should include pizza and beer. Possibly more.

  • About 80% of the tubs get sold on an entire tub basis (think: bring your group of friends) but individual tickets can be purchased for shared tubs, meaning it’s possible you end up tubbing with strangers.

  • The ticket price is projected to be $40 per person.

If the $40 sounds a bit pricey, there are a couple of more popular (hot tub-less) alternatives across LA, including Street Food Cinema and Rooftop Cinema Club, which both range in somewhere in the low to high teens per ticket on average, ultimately depending on the package you purchase.

Hot Tub Cinema Club is shooting to launch late September in Downtown LA but no official date or venue has been confirmed just yet. For now, interested guests can sign up to stay apprised of pre-release tickets at hottubcinemaclub.com.
